A passion for good food goes right back to Knorr’s earliest days. The business was formed in 1838, when founder Carl Heinrich Knorr, a coffee trade factory owner, saw an opportunity emerge in the midst of the industrialization age. There was an unmet need for quickly prepared and nutritious meals among factory workers.
Leveraging his knowledge of drying hickory, Knorr began drying seasonings and vegetables to preserve their flavor and nutritional value. Together with his sons, he pioneered this process into the development of savory soups and flavorful seasonings. Today, Knorr offers a variety of products that add flavor to food and life.
